So far I have been able to translate the Creatures Concept art. Heres what I have so far:

Creatures-Quadrupeds:

Razorback

Primal Gator

Ebbenwolf

Guardian wolf

While mankind had grown weak and gluttonous,
the beasts of the world still lived Under survivals rule.
Their transition into the world forsaken was with less
hardship

But still, without Magic?, the world was dying.
And so too its roaming creatures.

Creatures-Dragons:

Dragons:

Ruby Dragon

Shadow Dragon

Plains Dragon

Man was not alone in want and desire.
The race of dragonkind, steadfast guardians
of (Magic?) far eons prior,
were forced to share the world with these newly
created beings.

When the time of war swept the land barren,
consuming soil and plant and lake, the race of
dragon accepted their fate, and left the world to
the whims of the devourers.

MORE to Come!

I just thought I'd chime in and say you did an excellent job.  I know it is something my puny brain could never handle!

Hehe, thank you Spartan! And the others that were kind enough witht he karma.

Glad to assist even in such a token way. Recognition for initiative on things like this is often overlooked by the throngs of gamers on the forums.

Jalicos: I believe that the guardian wolf looks alot like Okami who was a wolf. Just my opinion.

I think that's where the "guardian" part comes from. The script-like markings are nearly identical to the ones on Amaterasu Okami, and wolves, especially white ones, are often depicted as nature guardians in Japanese myth. What bugs me are the other markings, on the paws and tail. They're more indicative of foxes than wolves, enough so that I originally assumed I was seeing a fox with Okami markings. How strange.

This brings back memories of Master of Magic.  I remember going through it, creating a translation key for the runes in the spellbook, and then at the start of each game checking to see if I got the really good spells.

I'm impressed that folks figured out a trick like that, but I kind of hope Elemental has a similar system of spell books that you *can't* decrypt except by in-game research.

I really liked not knowing exactly what spells would be there at the end of a given MoM game--it was a good part of the replayability factor for me.

I'm shocked CondarF only got 10 karma for this most unique effort. Come on guys, don’t be stingy show some love!

The other day while i was taking some screenshots for the user manual of one of the applications we work in, i found the TRUE meaning of the symbols in the four corners:

Elemental Office

Or maybe Stardock's guys are really smart (they are anyways) and have been advertising the game long before we knew?

In any case, it's cool the attention to details (typos and all) that we can see in the game and the stuff related to it. Keep the good work!

Hey guys,

Once again thank you for the thanks, and your welcome. And thank you all for the Karma. I'm just hoping for some new stuff to come out so I can start that translation gland going again.

Indeed. Even though I hope CondarF's skills won't help anyone decode spell books in advance once we have the game, I love fictional alphabets and languages and appreciate folks with the skills to reverse-engineer them.

Say, CondarF, any chance you'd be interested in translating the text around this bit of concept art?

on Dec 05, 2008

Oh yes, please CondarF, please

Btw, that shaman-or-whatever dudeis totally creeping me out

on Dec 05, 2008

Oh, please translate it CondarF, please

Edit: sorry about the double post, I always get confused when I post and the new post ends up on the next page

And last but not least for the other Concept Art, all four sides are the same and it says:

Top:
The Kingdom of ????           Elemental           The Empire of ???

Left:
In The First Age after the cataclysm was born the One who would cover the
world with death

Right:

In the First Age after the cataclysm was born the One who would bring life
back to the world

Bottom:

Part \(Perhaps 1?) of the ELEMENTAL circle(One character used for ir?) ? WAR of MAGIV (Which should be C, typos! Oh noes!)

Oh, so that creepy shaman dude is like, The One!?

No. The text along the edges of all of the single-unit concept art says the same thing. It's probably just a little piece of general history or something, not specifically related to those units.
